第六部分 巨星陨落(在上海的最后一百天) (1946年4月——7月25日)


抗战胜利后,陶行知有意将育才学校、社会大学迁址上海,成立生活教育社上海分社帮助一些中小学创建育才式学校,恢复山海工学团,以演讲、座谈、读书会等形式争取和平反对内战虽名列国民党特务暗杀黑名单,在李公朴、闻一多两先生被害后,却以“我等着第三枪”的大无畏气慨,投身反内战、反独裁,争和平、争民主的人民运动,将民主教育推向高潮。为人民民主和人民教育事业鞠躬尽瘁,一代文化巨人和教育宗师魂归其事业的起点——南京晓庄老山脚下。

 

The Passing Away of a Great Man

The Last One Hundred Days in Shanghai

After China won the Anti-Japanese WarTao decided to move Yucai School and the Social University to Shanghai. He founded a Branch Society of Life Education in Shanghai so as to help some of the primary and middle schools to apply the educational mode of Yucai School. BesidesTao resumed the Shanhai Work-Study Unionstruggling for the national peace and fighting against the civil war by means of speeches, forums, reading meetings, etc. After the assassinations of the two democrats Li Gongpu and Wen Yiduo, Tao, with the heroic manner of “I am waiting for the third shot”devoted himself in the movement of Anti-Civil War, Anti-Autocracy as well as the struggle for peace and democracyin spite of the fact that he was on the wanted list of the National Party. In this wayTao pushed the Movement of Democracy Education to the climax. Having devoted all his lifetime and kept loyal to Chinese People's democracy and education to the lastTao passed away in a small village at the foot of the Laoshan Hill——Xiaozhuang of Nanjinga place where the great literati and father of Chinese education started his noble causes.
